What is IFTTT?

IFTTT stands for "If This, Then That," a powerful automation platform that connects EcoQube with other devices and services through customizable automations called applets. With IFTTT, EcoQube interacts with home systems, air purifiers, HVAC systems, and sends you alerts via text messages, emails, and app notifications. This means your indoor air quality can be fully automated while keeping you informed—wherever you are. With EcoQube + IFTTT, you can create smart automations that help you save time and protect your health like never before.

👉 Tips & Reminders

  • Make sure your EcoQube is online and update radon readings to your Ecosense account.
  • Choose a realistic threshold for receiving notifications. You don’t want too many or too few alerts.
  • Keep IFTTT updated: If you change your Ecosense password or make major account changes, you may need to re-connect Ecosense within IFTTT (https://ifttt.com/ecosense/settings).

Please follow the steps below:

1. Sign Up or Log In

  • Go to IFTTT.com (or open the IFTTT mobile app).
  • Create an account if you don’t have one already. You can sign up with your email address, Apple ID, or Google account.
  • If you already have an IFTTT account, log in.

2. Connect Ecosense

  • Once you’re logged in, search for “Ecosense” in the top search bar on the IFTTT website (or tap the search icon in the app).
  • Select “Ecosense” from the search results.
  • Click “Connect” (if prompted) to link your Ecosense account.
    - You’ll be asked to sign in with your Ecosense credentials (the same account you use for your EcoQube).
    - Follow any on-screen instructions to authorize IFTTT to access your Ecosense device data.

3. Create a New Applet

You can either use a pre-made Applet if Ecosense or other users have published one that fits your needs, or create a custom one. Let’s go through creating a custom applet:

  • Click “Create” (sometimes it appears as “New Applet” or a “+” button, depending on the IFTTT interface).
  • You will see a screen that says “If This Then That.”

4. Define the Trigger (IF THIS)

  • Click the “Add” button or “+” under IF THIS.
  • In the services list (or search bar), type “Ecosense” again and select it.
  • Choose a Trigger. Possible triggers might look like:
    - “Radon level exceeds [threshold]”
    - “Radon level is updated”(Exact trigger names may vary depending on Ecosense’s IFTTT integration.)
  • If you see a “+ Suggest a new trigger” button, it means you can request a new trigger type if the one you need isn’t there—but typically you’ll see at least one standard “radon level” trigger.
  • Configure the Trigger:
    - You may be asked to set a threshold (e.g., “4.0 pCi/L” or the appropriate radon level you want to be alerted about).
    - Confirm or adjust any other settings (e.g., device name if you have multiple EcoQubes).
  • Click “Create trigger” to save this step.

5. Define the Action (THEN THAT)

  • Next, click the “Add” button or “+” under THEN THAT.
  • You’ll see a list of services/actions. Search for the action you want. Common choices include:
    - “Email” (IFTTT’s built-in email service) to send yourself an email alert.
    - “Notifications” (IFTTT’s built-in mobile notification if you have the IFTTT app installed).
    - “SMS” (in some regions) or other services like Slack, Discord, or push notifications.
  • Select your preferred action (e.g., “Send me an email”).
  • Configure the Action:Provide the email address, subject line, or message body (like “Warning: Radon level exceeded X pCi/L!”).
  • Click “Create action” when done.

6. Finish and Activate

  • Review the summary of your applet:
    - “If Ecosense radon level exceeds [X], then send me an email.”
  • Optionally, you can customize the applet title.
  • Turn On or Activate the applet. Once activated, IFTTT will monitor your EcoQube radon levels. Whenever the trigger condition (e.g., radon above the threshold) is met, you’ll receive the specified notification or email.

7. (Optional) Test and Refine

  • Trigger a test: Some integrations allow you to force a test (e.g., by adjusting the threshold to see if you get a notification). If not, you can simply wait for an actual radon level event.
  • Check the Activity Log: In IFTTT, there’s an “Activity” or “My Applets” section where you can see if the applet has run and whether it was successful or not.
  • Edit or Update: You can always go back to the applet to adjust the threshold, change the notification type, or disable it if needed.
